Introduction to Drifting: Late night touge run in Niigata, JP circa 1998 (Japan is a helluva drug)
Moved to Japan in Y2K. While working at a university, I purchased my first drift car. I was shown the ropes by a surly construction worker who put cigarettes out on his tongue and later served time in prison for assault of a rival team leader (I swear they started it). Home Touge in Niigata was Tainai Daira. Also frequented Kaji dam, Ninokusu, and Yahiko Skyline. During the later years, I lived in Fukushima (Home of Ebisu Circuit) and participated in many Drift Matsuri and local comps. Partial sponsorships by Morita Shokai/OTS.
Moved to L.A. in 2008 and suffered a distinct lack of drift cars until moving to Chicago in 2014 when I acquired my my S13 hatch from a shady craigslister. After 3 head gasket failures (read heartbreaks), I had my current motor built by AES in Elk Grove Village. The Foul Play guys were kind enough to introduce me to rest of the team and other cool folks that frequent ClubFr/US Air events. After many shared chikin tandies over the next few years, at ClubFR Jam 2019, the team extended an invitation for me to become an official member.
